INT. ABOUT PAGE – DAY
Hey there! I’m Rosalind (Ms. Jackson if…), a screenwriter and television/film producer. I earned a bachelor of arts degree in Television Production from California State University, Northridge. My 9-to-5 hours are spent working as Creative Executive at Edmonds Entertainment and as Director of Content at Alrightnow.com both owned by Executive Producer Tracey Edmonds.
My latest endeavors include serving as Co-Producer of Games People Play (BET); and Deion’s Family Playbook (The Oprah Winfrey Network), starring NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and television/film Executive Producer Tracey Edmonds; and With This Ring (Lifetime Television) starring Regina Hall, Jill Scott, and Eve.
I spend my after-hours time working on my side hustles, which are writing screenplays, producing indie film projects, and building this blog. I started WordyGirlEnt.com in 2014, but then like with all writers, procrastination reared its ugly big fat head (c’mon, I know it’s not just me) and I abandoned it before getting it off the ground. Then one day, I read an article about procrastination that asked writers if they aren’t writing what are they waiting for. The author of the article bluntly put it this way, “Are you a writer or a waiter?” Get it? Ha ha.
Uh … I ain’t no damn waiter. No shade to waiters. Get that money, LOL! That question woke me up. I told myself: Girl, if you ain’t writing, then you ain’t no writer. That reality check motivated me to revive my blog to help myself and other writers get our butts in the chair and write.
I also host the WordyGirl Entertainment podcast, where review television shows and films; and interview writers, producers, directors, and actors.
In my series, “Cut To The F*cking Chase,” I give tough-love advice to screenwriters looking to break into Hollywood. I also share Hollywood event information and tidbits about my adventures as a writer.
Exciting, right? Come on in, get inspired, then get to writing!
